THE PUBLIC HOUSE OF ART RAISES €1,5 MILLION IN FUNDING ROUND.

CONTROVERSIAL ART PLATFORM SPEEDS UP INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION.

Amsterdam, April 7, 2017 - The Public House of Art is pleased to announce that they have received an investment of € 1.5 million from Q2Q Capital. This achievement marks it as one of the top ten investments for Amsterdam startups this year.

The primary purpose of the fundraising is to accelerate the growth strategy and international expansion for the disruptive art platform. In the past 18 months, the company has sold more than 3,000 works of art.

Art is for everyone

The Public House of Art’s mission is to make art affordable, accessible (less snobbish) and most importantly, fun. The Public House of Art is managed by Sid Sand (Founder and CEO) and Maarten Bitter (CMO), former CMO of TravelBird.

Sid Sand on the investment round: "We will use this investment to expand our business internationally, to further develop the online platform, build new collections and set up a new shop-in-shop concept. We will continue our mission to shake up the current art industry and to make art accessible and affordable to everyone."

Commenting on the transaction, Q2Q Capital's Founder & Chief Investment Officer Muhammed Yesilhark noted: "This investment is a great example of our capability as experienced investors across a variety of industries. We have acted with agility in a niche sector, where we identified the compelling combination of structural market growth and an outstanding management team to capitalise on the opportunity. We are looking forward to being long-term value-added partners for Public House of Art (PHOA) in its mission to make quality art more accessible to consumers."

About The Public House of Art

The Public House of Art is a new art platform with the motto: we are not a f*cking gallery! They believe that art should be accessible and affordable for all. Experience is paramount; with the help of creative agency, KesselsKramer, PHOA has created a concept where everyone feels welcome.

The Public House of Art collaborates with international artists to curate bi-annual, thematic exhibitions; eliminating the snobbish, academic barrier that often surrounds art. The current theme: "The Devil Inside Me”. Think of those indulging moments when you eat a whole bag of crisps, down that extra shot, or devour a hamburger just after the gym; the chance that temptation consumes you is big, especially in the heat of the moment. The artists in this show are: Elizabeth Koning, Carolina Mizrahi, Andrey Kezzyn, Barbara van den Berg, Esther Levigne, Thomas Thijssen, Mariska Karto, Paulina Otylie Surys, Irene Wijnmaalen Paolo Angelucci, Flore Zoé, Hayo Sol, Tamara Kvesitadze, Valay Shende and Mance van Beers. It's a mixture of both emerging and established artists, all of whom embody the core values and ideas of The Public House of Art; art for all.

The art is affordable to everyone because it is offered in four sizes (House, Villa, Mansion and Castle); prices range from € 100 for the smallest size to € 2,000 for the largest.
